Welcome to the official site of the St. Arvans Community Plan Steering
Group, which aims to keep you up to date with what’s happening in
St. Arvans, Monmouthshire.
The Steering Group was set up as part of the Community Plan Process which followed on from the feedback obtained from the residents’ questionnaires, which were completed in the autumn of 2014. The group is currently run by five Trustees who are all local volunteers and whose purpose is to address some of the issues that were identified, raise funds for village events and help to foster a stronger feeling of ‘community’.
There are over 30 residents who have also volunteered to help and there is now:
- An Events Group which organised a very successful Ceilidh just before Christmas and who are busy planning a charity ‘Promises’ auction on 12th March and a spectacular village fête on 2nd July
- A Speedwatch Group whose presence will hopefully deter motorists from speeding through the village
- A Litter Picking Group who will shortly be seen picking up litter throughout the community
Other Groups and initiatives are also being planned and will be announced in the future.
St Arvans is situated adjacent to the Wye Valley and is within an area of outstanding natural beauty with its southern tip extending to the town of Chepstow.
